THE FAT DADDY BAND
The Fat Daddy Band is fronted by vocalist and Blues veteran Kerry "Big Hurl" Hurley of Roanoke, VA. Hurley has displayed his powerful vocal skills in several regional bands, namely THE THRILLBILLYZ and BLUES HANGOVER. His band THE THRILLBILLYZ released the CD "ROMP" where they had a regional hit "Franklin County Moonshine". Kerry had the opportunity to perform with national blues acts such as, LONNIE BROOKS, W.C. CLARK, BOB MARGOLIN, AND ANSON FUNDERBURGH. In addition to being a dynamic Blues man on stage, "Big Hurl" hosts his own Blues radio show, The Bluuuuuuues Show, on WROV, 96.3 FM in
Roanoke, VA every Sunday night.
Guitar & Vocal duties go to Hoppie "The Minister of Soul" Vaughan of Union, SC. Hoppie grew up in N. Augusta, SC. He toured all over the S.E. playing in club rock bands out of Atlanta, GA. Moved to Nashville, TN in 1983, signed as a staff songwriter for Milsap Music in 1985, appeared on Starsearch in 1988. Hoppie played guitar or bass and sang on countless sessions in studios all over Nashville, Muscle Shoals, AL & Chicago, IL. Hoppie has appeared , opened for or written songs with artists such as, John Mayall, Gatemouth Brown, Rod Price of Foghat, Bob Welch of Fleetwood Mac, Tommy Two Tone, Ronnie Milsap, Lorrie Morgan (Trainwreck of Emotion video) Mac Gayden (Crazy Mama video) Tommy Crane of CDB, Steve Lukather, Jimmy Hall of Wet Willie, Miranda Louise. Hoppie relocated to Roanoke, VA in 1996
and joined The FDB as a bass player in Spring of 2001.
